Plain-language summary for a small independent site, not a legal document drafted by a lawyer.
Reading Dawn doesn't require an account, and no personal information is collected from readers beyond standard technical web server logs (see below). Nothing is sold to anyone.
The server that runs Dawn keeps basic technical logs common to any web server - things like IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested - used only for security (for example, spotting abuse and preventing a single source from overloading the site) and keeping the site running. There are no reader accounts, no newsletter signup, and no tracking cookies at this time.
The "Get in touch" form doesn't submit anything to Dawn's server at all - it opens your own email client with your reason and message pre-filled, and you choose whether to actually send it. Nothing you type there is seen by Dawn unless you send that email yourself.
Dawn uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which lessons are actually useful - things like page views, approximate location (country/city level, not precise), device/browser type, and which site referred you here. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this and may share data with Google as described in Google's own privacy policy. You can opt out using Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or any browser extension that blocks analytics/tracking scripts.
Dawn does not currently run ads. If that changes, this page will be updated first to name the specific ad network, what data it collects, and how to opt out where possible, before anything is turned on.
Google Analytics sets a few cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions (see above). The admin editor (used only by the site's author) separately uses a single session cookie to stay logged in - neither is set for the purpose of identifying you personally.
The lesson content database is hosted with a managed Postgres provider in the EU. Technical server logs are kept only as long as needed for security purposes and aren't archived long-term or sold.
Since there's no account system and essentially no personal data held on readers, there isn't a profile to access or delete. If you've emailed the site and want that message or any reply deleted, just ask.
Dawn isn't directed at children under 13, and knowingly collects no data from them.
This policy may be updated as the site grows. Meaningful changes (like adding ads or analytics) will be reflected here with an updated date at the top before they take effect.
